ABSTRACT

business organizations in a dwindling economy like Nigeria and thus require urgent attention to tapping into the embedded skills in women folk to achieve success and balance in board composition for improvement on the value and performance of an organization. The study examined the moderating role of board gender diversity on the nexus of cash management and firm value of selected manufacturing firms in Nigeria for the period 2014 – 2023. Correlation analysis was conducted using the OLS regression and the result showed the importance of integrating gender diversity consideration into the financial decision making processes to enhance firm value through effective cash management; hence, board gender diversity has a positive and significant effect on corporate cash management. The findings therefore, underscores the crucial interplay between cash management and board gender diversity in enhancing the value of Nigerian manufacturing firms. Consequently, we recommend among other things the prioritization of gender mix in board appointment, integrating gender diversity as a key component of the corporate governance practice and improving on the training for the underrepresented folks for effective financial and operational decisions.
